Ebony and Dexter tied the knot during their Crystal Ballroom wedding in Altamonte Springs, Florida overlooking Lake Pearl. My sweethearts actually met 13 years ago when Ebony was visiting Dexter’s cousin who happened to be her friend. Dexter by chance had stopped by to see his aunt, which led to meeting Ebony.
Their connection was instant and as Ebony reminisces, “I instantly took notice to his mannerism and handsome face. I knew that he was going to play a major role in my life.” Small conversation and introductions soon led to Dexter asking Ebony out on a date. From that one fateful day the two became inseparable knowing that their G-d had a plan for them.
Ebony loves how Dexter takes charge in their relationship and his admiration for her. She feels the love in both his heart and eyes every day of her life. Dexter loves how nurturing Ebony is to both him and his family. As he explains, “Ebony is my soulmate, she understands me, and she makes me a better me.” It was this unwavering feeling that Dexter had met the woman of his dreams that led to him proposing to her on Valentine’s Day in front of all of the ones he loved from his daughters to his granddaughters before a special breakfast followed with prayer.
My sweethearts envisioned a day that was both filled with romance and faith. From a candlelit dinner to tying the knot on the veranda overlooking Lake Pearl, their intimate and romantic vision came true. Faith played a large part in their wedding as well from Pastor Doby officiating their wedding to a special prayer dance from Dexter’s granddaughters as a tribute from Ebony.
Our day started off with capturing a few shots of Ebony getting in her dress along with the decadent table décor the Crystal Ballroom is known for creating. Ebony was a ball of nerves, but so excited to “get the show on the road.” I have to admit the girls had me cracking up as they practiced their ceremony exit of dabbing. A grand exit of course takes practice!
Located outside on the veranda, Dexter waited patiently for his bride to walk down the aisle when their ceremony began. Pastor Doby was quite the comedian and had the whole audience laughing for many portions of their ceremony. Ebony and Dexter wanted their ceremony to be lighthearted and fun, which as perfectly portrayed.
Formal portraits of the family and wedding party followed after the ceremony wrapped up. Within it being too dark to take photos outside, we utilized the backdrop of their room décor for dramatic newlywed portraits.
Our wedding party’s reception entrance was just as grand as their ceremony exit with everyone walking down the stairs and dabbing in a group dance. Toasts by Ebony’s Maid of Honor Judy Wood and Dexter’s Best Man Oris Jones reminisced on when Ebony and Dexter first met and how they have grown together into a beautiful couple. Before heading out for the night we grabbed cake shots and guests dabbing it up on the dance floor.
Wishing these two a beautiful life together with their incredible family!
