Bohemian Engagement

Kristie & Nick’s Adventurous Green Springs Park Engagement

Kristie and Nick met me out at Green Springs Park for their bohemian engagement shoot in the woods.  I love inspiration photos and when Kristie showed me a few of the shots she had in mind, I knew the park was the perfect intimate and whimsical location for a little something out of the ordinary.

My sweethearts’ story begins back in January of 2015 when the two happened to cross paths at a local bar called The Rack.  Seeing Kristie from across the bar, Nick walked up to her to introduce himself, which led to their two groups meeting and heading out to IHOP for a late night food run.  It was a great opportunity for the two to chat further and keep in touch for about three months genuinely getting to know one another before officially dating.

The beauty of their love for one another is deep within their hearts.  Nick fell in love with Kristie’s sense of adventure and of course how beautiful she is inside and out.  As Nick explains, “I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be able to call this beautiful woman my soon to be wife.  The best part about my days are knowing I get to wake up and fall asleep next to her, every day for the rest of my life.”

Nick’s love for Kristie and the way he loves her is truly what Kristie loves most about him.  As Kristie explains it, “there is not a day that goes by that he does not tell me and show me how much he loves me, how beautiful I am, and how lucky he is to have me, and it comes from the heart every time.”  It is this genuine connection that the two have to one another, which has opened up doors for their love to grow.

Nick knew he had found the one and on December 10th of last year proposed to Kristie in Saint Augustine.  Planning out his proposal, Nick planned a weekend getaway for Kristie’s birthday on the 13th to visit the ‘Nights of Lights’ event held annually for the holidays in St Augustine since the holidays are Kristie’s favorite.  Inviting his sister and brother-in-law to join along held keep Kristie from becoming suspicious or expecting what nick had in store.

After checking into their hotel, the group headed out for a boat tour followed by dinner.  Walking along the historic streets and making their way through to the town square where a beautiful Christmas tree and gazebo were decorated with lights for the event.  Nick’s sister asked Kristie to take a picture of her and her husband under the gazebo, and after offered to picture of Nick and Kristie.  Getting into a photo ready pose, Nick dropped to one knee and asked for Kristie’s hand in marriage.  It was completely unexpected and the absolute perfect moment.  Of course, Kristie said “yes!”

Kristie and Nick’s advice for their wedding planning journey and for others would be to “make it all about you.”  To explain, “You will receive so many different options and wishes and wants.  This is your day; make it how you want it to be.  It’s one of the most important days of your life!”
