Holiday season is approaching and with it comes the incredible opportunity of capturing family portraits. When Lyndall McLeod reached out to me about capturing her ADORABLE family for the holidays, I was absolutely excited. When I found out that it was her son Winston’s first official holiday photos, I was just overjoyed.
Mead Botanical Garden set the stage for our backdrop. Filled with flora and fauna, it was the perfect low key spot for our session. We started off in the flower garden closer to the front of the park. It reminds me a of a little gardener’s paradise. Winston loved spending time in daddy Jason’s arms and cuddling up with mommy Lyndall, but I think his favorite part was sitting on a rustic stone bench with his best bud Milo. Milo, the family Yorkie, just loves his little brother Winston. From lying down next to him to following Winston around, he was always by his side.
After checking out the flower filled garden, we headed over to the back of the park to explore further. Elder oaks lined a large field and provided shade while my little family sat down for a break. Winston enjoyed attempting to eat play with the twigs he found around him, while Milo snooped around for squirrels. What I love about these types of sessions, is that I am able to sit down with my families and enjoy the moment. It isn’t always about how many photos you can snap in a ten minute mini-session, it is about the genuine honest moments that come through naturally in the photos through getting to know one another.
Looking forward to planning out Winston’s cake smash for his first birthday coming up!
