Amanda and Jamie contacted me a few months back to capture their Disney engagement session on the monorail and at the Grand Floridian. Amanda had found me on The Knot and both loved my natural, non-posed styled, and were drawn in by my “about me” video on my website. I couldn’t have been more excited when I found out that they chose me to capture their destination engagement.
Amanda and Jamie first met online and talked for a while before meeting in person. Amanda remembers their first night meeting like it was yesterday, but with Jamie’s nerves it is a complete blur. Little did they know it was the first of many to come.
After dating for some time, Jamie felt and knew in his heart that there was no one else in the world who could be more perfect for him. While Amanda was at school, Jamie prepared his proposal by going to Target to get a few supplies. He knew that he would need a little bit of time and wanted to make it special. Using the theme from their favorite movie Up, Jamie bought a helium tank and balloons. He filled up 50, yes 50!, balloons with helium until it ran out and moved on to another 72 the old fashion way – now that is dedication! The whole room was covered in balloons and truly was a beautiful site to see.
In addition to the balloon filled room, Jamie bought a dozen red roses that he placed on their coffee table accompanied by candles. With acoustic music playing in the background, Jamie dimmed the lights and waited for Amanda to arrive home. Seeing her pull up, Jamie ran out and greeted her at her car. Amanda knew something was up, but was caught in the moment.
As they turned the corner to their hallway, a lone balloon greeted Amanda. Little did she know what was about to come. Opening the door, the remaining 121 balloons poured out into the hallway beckoning her to come into their apartment. Jamie got down on one knee and asked her the question that would change her life forever, “Amanda, will you marry me?” and of course Amanda said yes!
