Heather and Jonathan tied the knot during their Orlando Science Center wedding. From a beautiful ceremony overlooking Lake Formosa, to family photos under a dinosaur, and a rooftop reception under market lighting overlooking the city, every moment was beautiful and exciting!
Our day started off meeting Heather and her girls at the Embassy Suites hotel for a few getting ready and detail shots. Heather did an incredible job incorporating her teal color scheme into her bridesmaids’ attire to her handmade shawl worn during the reception. My second shooter Lyssa helped me out with creating an ‘epic’ dress shot that might be hard to spot if you look to quick!
After wrapping up with details, we headed over to the bridal suite at the Orlando Science Center for Heather putting on her dress. A first look against the backdrop of Lake Formosa was the perfect way to start off pre-newlywed portraits. Incorporating the sculptures around us, we captured a few fun shots before hiding out as guests arrived.
The ceremony was beautiful and Heather’s vows to Jonathan brought tears to everyone’s eyes. You could just sense the love between the two of them and hearing it allowed was beautiful through their vows. After a first kiss shared, Heather’s two aunts lovingly handed her a horse shoe, which is a symbol of everlasting love in British weddings.
Before the sun went down we captured a few wedding party photos before heading to the dino room for family portraits. Junction 88 did a stand up job at creating intricate blue and green uplighting patterns that were bold and beautiful! Heather’s Maid of Honor and Jonathan’s Best Man had us laughing during their toasts when we learned about how our sweethearts met.
It was by fate that both happened to be attending a mutual friend’s 4th of July celebration. Heather not knowing many of the guests introduced herself to a few people before making her way to Jon. They had an instant connection and before the night was over, Jon had slipped his number into her bag. The two convinced their friend to have another little shindig a week later so that they could meet again. Dating soon ensued and the two became inseparable. As Heather explains, “from the moment we met we couldn’t get enough of each other.”
A first dance and dollar dance followed toasts and a fabulous dinner by 4Rivers Catering. Our night ended overlooking the city lights as the two hugged family and friends goodbye. Wishing these two an incredible life!
