Bri and Andre tied the knot during their BB Kings Blues Club wedding at Pointe Orlando. Their night was filled with a live band, tons of dancing, and an intimate rooftop ceremony at night.
You may remember my couple from their adventurous engagement at Universal Studios. I knew that Bri and Andre would be a blast to work with when I met them at the mummy for their engagement session to find out it was where Andre proposed, but more on their proposal later in the story…
While I love to know how my sweethearts proposal went, I also love to know where their love story began. Back in August of 2013 the two crossed paths while hanging out at the Hammered Lamb. Bri is a HUGE football fan (we even took a photo of her watching the game with her girls at the wedding!) and noticed Andre’s interest in both the game… and her! The two would chat periodically, but it wasn’t until Bri’s brother said “you should be dating someone like Andre” that she let Andre make his first move. Spending time away from their football group at the Hammered Lamb, the two spent the day hanging out at now one of their favorite places to go together… you guessed it, Universal Studios! From small chat at the bar to a day well spent at the parks, there was a definite spark between them.
Fast-forward to October 19, 2015, Bri called Andre asking about a date night since the weather was perfect. The two decided on going to the parks to ride their favorite ride The Mummy and walk around taking in the sites. Walking up to the ride, Bri noticed Andre was acting a little different. He kept mentioning how nervous he was to ride the ride and was much more talkative than normal. Bri of course just laughed it off as they rode The Mummy all of the time.
Finally making it through the line and boarding onto the back row, Andre’s nerves calmed a little as he began talking to Bri about their relationship. He explained that a friend of theirs actually gave them hot air balloon tickets for him to propose to Bri, but he didn’t feel like it fit the two of them. Bri couldn’t agree more, but was also focused on the drop coming up! As the ride sped up, Andre grabbed Bri’s hand and at the highest point said, “all of those ideas weren’t us, THIS is us.” In that moment he pulled out the sweetest gold band with a beautiful diamond, it was an engagement ring! Bri was in complete shock and as the ride dropped, she screamed “yesssssssss!”
From The Mummy to BB Kings Blues Club, I knew my adventurous, blues loving couple would be a blast to work with and couldn’t wait for their wedding. Our morning day started meeting up with Bri at the Rosen Center Hotel for getting ready photos. Her Maid of Honor Lauryn Davis was having her makeup done, while Bri had just had hers finished up. To my absolute joy, I walked in to find my bride ready for photos and her details laid out for us to capture. After detail shots, we took a moment to capture one of my favorite moments of the day, the mommy reveal. Endearing tears poured from everyone’s eyes as Bri’s mom Kathy entered the room to see her daughter for the first time in her wedding gown. It was incredibly touching and on top of the moment, Bri even surprised her mom with a beautiful pair of earrings. After getting ready photos we headed across the street to Pointe Orlando for their wedding at BB Kings Blues Club.
Filled to the brim with artwork and music, BB Kings is the perfect place for an awesome time. Outside on the rooftop terrace, my sweethearts tied the knot by saying their “I do’s” and sharing a first kiss. The nighttime ceremony was perfect with the market lighting above. Formal portraits soon followed at their ceremony location along with newlywed shots before we headed inside for their reception.
Upstairs was filled with even more artwork and the perfect view overlooking the dance floor and live band. My second shooter Whitney grabbed an awesome shot of the couple surrounded by their friends and family, while I captured the two at ground level for their first dance. A first dance was followed by many more dances as guests jumped on the dance floor to boogie down with Mr. and Mrs. Williamson. It was the perfect adventurous night for my adventurous couple!
