Elizabeth and Clifford tied the knot during their Estate on the Halifax wedding in Port Orange, Florida. My sweethearts envisioned a romantic and intimate wedding with their closest friends and family.
My sweethearts first met back in college, while Clifford was on a scholarship playing tennis at Ball State University. Elizabeth at the time was in her senior year finishing up nursing school and was completely intrigued when Clifford approached her with his darling South African accent. After just one date the two became inseparable and finished up their college years together before planning their big day.
The two truly love spending time together and always have fun with one another. Elizabeth fell in love with how kind and patient Clifford is. It was clear as day how supportive and loving he is towards Elizabeth from the way he held her during their newlywed portraits to the look in his eye as she would pass by on the dance floor. Clifford loves how close Elizabeth is with her family and always makes an effort to visit them with her in Florida since the two moved to Arizona. Truly their support system for one another has been the foundation for their love to grow on.
Knowing how close Elizabeth is with her family, Clifford wanted to incorporate Elizabeth’s parents into sharing in on such a special moment of his proposal. Clifford knew that the perfect time to propose would be right before meeting up with Elizabeth’s parents for dinner during their trip to Las Vegas. Walking the strip at night with the lights twinkling above, Clifford held Elizabeth’s hand as they walked up to a special spot overlooking the buildings. Kneeling down he asked for Elizabeth’s hand in marriage and of course Elizabeth said “yes!” For Elizabeth, “it was very romantic, it was even more special to me that I could celebrate with my family after he proposed.”
Their wedding was just as special as their proposal since many of their closest family and friends flew and drove in to celebrate in the momentous occasion. We started off our day meeting up with our bride to be Elizabeth for detail and getting ready photos. Some of my favorite moments captured are of the portraits we took of Elizabeth through a special light that I brought along. The beauty in her soul truly radiates through her eyes in each image and are just ever so captivating.
After getting ready photos with our bride to be, it was time to head to the chapel for their wedding. Built in 1897, the Chapel was originally the first town hall of Port Orange. It has since served as a Parish Hall for Grace Episcopal Church before being relocated to the Estate on the Halifax where it has found it’s permanent home.
With “I do’s” said and a first kiss shared, we headed outside for wedding party portraits after family portraits in the chapel. The gardens seem to be endless with secret little spots from Snowwhites Cabin to a winding watermill. Elizabeth loves photos as much as I do and part way through the reception we even came back out for a few images with grandma near the Saint Francis statue and additional newlywed portraits. It was truly the perfect wedding to end our fabulous 2016 year on with a couple that just adores my favorite part of the day – newlywed portraits!
Of course their reception was just as beautiful as their chapel wedding. Located in the Tavern, the 1920s structure boasts large wooden beams and stunning wrought iron staircases. Truly the perfect little spot for an intimate wedding.
Wishing these two a very safe trip back to Arizona and a fabulous future trip to South Africa next year when they renew their vows with Clifford’s family abroad!
