Jen and Matt tied the knot during their Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek wedding in Orlando, Florida. A stunningly gorgeous five star hotel, the two envisioned pure elegance for their wedding day. Their indoor ceremony was filled with sentimental vows and a boxing of memories. After tying the knot inside, the two ventured our with our photographer Dawn for newlywed portraits. Heading back inside afterwards, they partied the night away with their friends and family in the grand ballroom.
How They Met
We met in passing a few years ago at a mutual friend’s Halloween party. That same mutual friend approached us later on with the idea of connecting us, using the fact that we both love The Princess Bride as a selling point. She set up a gathering at her house, and sure enough, we hit it off immediately. We had our first date out for pizza a week later, and we knew we were about to start something special.
What They Love Most
Jen – Matt is intelligent, talented, and funny. He listens, loves to learn new things, and takes the time to teach me new things like chess and college football. I love how Matt has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met. He would do anything for his loved ones and is a friend to everyone that he meets.
Matt – Jen is kind to everyone she meets, she is selfless and puts so much importance on being there for her family and friends. She is always thinking about other people and how to make them a little happier. When I have a rough few days at work or I get stressed, she will bring me a milkshake or even bake a pie just to bring a little sweetness into my day. She has mastered the art of turning little moments into the best memories – sipping champagne and nibbling on cheese overlooking Boothbay Harbor is one of my favorites. No need for fancy clothes or visiting the most over-hyped restaurant – just hours curled up under a blanket, talking about our favorite fall memories as children , and spending the best moments of my life with the most wonderful person I have ever known.
The Proposal
We planned a trip to the northeast in October 2017 to experience the fall up in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. On the second day of the trip, we drove to Vermont and Matt told me that he wanted to take me to hike up a small spot to see a beautiful waterfall. Even though Matt asked me to, I didn’t pack any good hiking shoes, but he was so excited about it, so I agreed. I like to think I impressed him with easily I got up the mountain with my flats! Matt handed another couple his camera to take our picture, and then suddenly dropped to one knee to ask me to marry him. Everyone up there start clapping, I start crying happy tears, and of course, I said yes! Easiest answer of my life!
The Wedding
We envision the ceremony to be relaxed, romantic, and full of love – not only between us, but also for all of our friends and family there. We want the reception to be a fun party with lots of dancing and laughter! We want a lot of memories created and to be all to enjoy time with our loved ones. Our colors are gold, burgundy, and blush.
