Rustic Sunset Engagement
Taylor and Colt met me out at beautiful Lake Louisa for their rustic engagement at sunset. Making their way from Gainesville in the midst of a hurricane going up towards the Panhandle, we were all very hopeful for safe travels and amazing weather – fingers crossed! Well, I must say that our wish was definitely granted, because after one hurricane band we had amazing cool weather on what was a very hot day, along with the most spectacular sunset!
How They Met
Just over a year ago, almost about a year and a half actually, Colt first laid eyes on Taylor. The two were out at a local bar called the Social in Gainesville for Cinco de Mayo. Having met online a few months prior to meeting in person, the two hit it off after in person introductions. Spending the rest of the weekend together, they have simply been inseparable since!
What They Love Most
Falling in love with how Colt always makes her feel part of his family, Taylor explains that while “he stays pretty busy, he is always present in the lives of those he loves.” Being able to count on Colt, no matter the situation, whether it is coming home from a rough day after work or working on their future, he is always present in being there for Taylor.
For Colt, it is Taylor’s drive that is his favorite attribute of hers out of so many. As Colt explains, “I love that Taylor is driven to do things that she is passionate about and always wants to help people. Whether it be advocating for American farmers or sending supplies to those affected by a hurricane, she always goes out of her way to do any little thing she can.” This selflessness shines through day in and day out through her love for those around her.
The Proposal
May has become a special month for Taylor and Colt. It was the month the first met and the month that Colt proposed. As Taylor was wrapping up graduating college this past May, the two began discussing their future more and more. The two wanted to remain in Gainesville, and Taylor lucked out with finding a great job quickly. With so much falling into place, there was just one last piece – Colt’s proposal. Taking their pup out on his nightly ride in their back pasture – pup running in tow to their golf cart – Colt asked Taylor to hop off so they could walk for a bit. A little confused, she obliged and as she turned to get off the cart found Colt on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. Between graduating, finding an amazing job, and finding an incredible man – her future, their future, had truly begun.
Best Piece of Advice
With so many pieces falling into place, I asked my sweethearts how their wedding planning was going. I absolutely loved Taylor and Colt’s advice with the planning stage of their wedding day, we “heard someone say that no matter how the day of your wedding goes, if its raining or something goes wrong, in the end your still getting married to the love of your life. Don’t stress on the little details, just remember what the day is actually about.”
Looking forward to our team capture Taylor and Colt’s big day this coming January at their home where Colt proposed!
