Sunken Gardens Wedding
Marissa and Shane tied the knot during their Sunken Gardens wedding in St Petersburg, Florida. A beautiful botanical garden, Sunken Gardens was in full bloom being February, which made for magical floral backdrops.
Roxy and Jude, Marissa and Shane’s pups, saw a match between the two when they brought them together during a visit to the Davis Island dog park. First connecting over their dogs, the two realized soon into dating that there was something special between them. During a trip to Chile, Shane proposed to Marissa in a field of white wild flowers that laid before the Andes Mountains. As the sunset in front of them, Shane asked for Marissa’s hand in marriage, and she of course said, “yes!”
Wedding Day at Sunken Gardens
Fast forward to their big day at Sunken Gardens, we first met with our bride at a beautiful rental home in St Pete and our groom who was getting ready at the Hollander Hotel. Ahead of schedule with our bride, in addition to capturing her details and fun robe shots toasting with her girls, we also added in a bride’s party reveal after she was in her dress. Our groom’s party was also ahead of schedule, which allowed for some extra time to do a few killer shots against the large scale murals outside at the Hollander.
Opting to knock out all formal portraits before the ceremony, our couple arrived to the venue with a first look next up on their timeline. Taking place in the cacti garden, Marissa walked up to Shane who was both nervous and excite to see her. Between the amazing overcast from the earlier showers (always a good omen on wedding day), to our beautiful couple, and killer backdrop, we just loved capturing these two in one of the many beautiful areas at Sunken Gardens.
After having a moment together, we brought in each of their respective parties for bride’s party portraits and groom’s party portraits before heading to their ceremony site to do a full bridal party portrait of the group together. Family arrived shortly after as well for their formal portraits too.
Sunken Gardens Wedding Ceremony
As guests began to arrive to the venue, we hid our couple to prepare for they ceremony procession. Intimate vows, followed by exchanging of rings, and a first kiss, sealed the deal. One surprise Marissa had in store for Shane was her beautiful cape that she wore instead of a veil. I just loved how perfect it was against the back of her dress, and such a fun surprise for walking down the aisle.
Sunken Gardens Wedding Reception
Cocktail hour followed by the reception entrance in the upstairs ballroom made for a fun night of mingling and dancing. A last group dance capped the night out before we said goodbye to our sweet couple.
