Emily & Esteban’s Mead Botanical Garden Engagement – Captured by Whitney

Emily and Esteban had a beautiful session at Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park, Florida. You can see the joy these two have for each other when they are together. We can’t wait to see these two get married!

How They Met

Emily and Esteban are high school sweethearts who first connected in 2016 through their band class.  They were both very passionate about music, outgoing, silly – they were a perfect match but didn’t know it.  It wasn’t until much later in the school year when Emily started finding Reese’s candy bars in her band locker from a secret admirer.  She thought it was one of her friends in the flute section, but it wasn’t any of them.  Luckily, she walked right into the locker room while the mystery person was putting another Reese’s inside, and to her surprise, it was Esteban.  A few days later, Esteban messaged Emily and they talked the day away.  Sparks started flying from their very first conversation, and it continued this way every time they talked.  Then, on April 10th, Emily’s cousin (who was also in band with them) helped Esteban with a really cute promposal on Emily’s driveway.  There was a trail of candy leading from the front door to the driveway, where she found a giant drawing of a rainbow made from chalk and a sign that said “come with me over the rainbow?”, which referenced a song that she told him she really loved – Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  After saying yes of course, the two of them stayed on the driveway drawing more with the chalk and ended up going out for frozen yogurt.  They became an official couple on April 16th, 2016 at the junior/senior prom, when Esteban held up a big paper towards the camera in the photo booth asking Emily to be his girlfriend.  Little did she know he would become her forever.

Love for Each Other

There is a quote by Dr. Seuss that says, “we are all a little weird, and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”  What Emily loves most about Esteban is that she can be weird, nerdy, or downright crazy and Esteban matches that same energy.  Emily can truly be herself around Esteban, and it keeps her young.  She is always smiling and laughing whenever he is near.

What Esteban loves most about Emily is her kindness, her ability to see good in everyone, her sweet smile, and her unconditional love.
