How They Met
We met at the Sanford Marina for our first date, a very romantic walk around downtown Sanford, where he held my hand, got me Pizza on the riverwalk, and talked about the same nerdy science videos that I loved. We matched on an online dating app just a few days before on January 6th, I fell for his kind and handsome face and his very witty and goofy profile which made me laugh. We then had a wonderful conversation on the phone, which lead to our first in-person meeting on January 9th, 2022.
What They Love About Eachother
Chris – In meeting and coming to know Amanda I was able to imagine a future greater than any I could fathom on my own. She enhances all those around her, me included. We have shared values which I think is key to how we feel about each other. I know with her by my side, that at the end of our days, we will have lived a life worth living and pass on a legacy that our forebearers would be proud of.
‘What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.’ – Pericles.
Amanda – On our first date, he made me laugh, he held my hand with tenderness and confidence, he was interested in the same crazy science videos on shrimp that I was, he made me feel safe, and like he genuinely cared about me. From that moment on, he’s been there for me–to listen to my grand stories of the adventures with my nephews, to console me about my hard day, to drive me wherever I need since I hate driving, to come over to see me just to bring me an ice cream and a kiss before I go to bed. When we approach a new task, we conquer it together. He’s the provider, partner and man I’ve dreamed about my whole life. He is cheerful, determined, independent, and hardworking like Charles Ingalls, charactered, honorable, and reliable like Horatio Hornblower, family-centered, gentle, and wise like Mr. Ward Cleaver. He appreciates everything I do from little chores, to a fancy dinner, he’s always praising and appreciative. More than that, he appreciates all the things I’ve always valued the most, he loves my principles, he loves my character, the way I view the world and the way I walk in it, he loves what I love, he loves my soul. That is why it is so easy to reflect all that love bright and shining back at him. We agree on so many things, but even when we don’t and throughout our relationship, I’ve always known he’s loved me every moment, even if I frustrated him, and I’ve always known we would work through anything together. He’s a good man and he’s terribly good to me. And for all these reasons and many more is why I love the man I’m going to marry.
