The Proposal
We got engaged on May 22nd, 2022. Michael had told me we were meeting his best friend and new girlfriend at Mote Marine Lab and Aquarium. As he pulls up to the aquarium he gets a “call” from his best friend that they can no longer meet up, but he wants to still walk around. I was gullible and had a great time looking at all the marine life. I had no idea anything was going on, Michael on the other hand was coordinating with my close friends to meet us after he proposed.
After a couple of hours of perusing around we decided to head out, Michael says his best friend is at a park and is free to hang out for a bit. I, again none-the-wiser, trail along hoping to get some pictures of the local wildlife and flowers.
When we pull up to Ringling’s Museum I turn to Michael and asked, “You aren’t going to propose right?” Michael played it off very cool and declined. I could tell he was nervous or maybe he was tired from all the walking. He directed us to the rose garden and when I didn’t see his best friend but mine I was very confused. She spun me around and Michael was on one knee, ring in hand. After I playfully scolded him for lying about proposing I said YES!
We met up with a couple of our mutual friends and some I haven’t seen in years at a nearby tiki bar!
We were both so relived and happy the day turned out so beautifully!!
