Erica and Greg’s elopement at the Luxmore Grande Estate in Winter Springs, Florida was the perfect celebration of timeless elegance and romance. Nestled within the grandeur of the estate, their intimate indoor ceremony was both beautiful and meaningful. Erica and Greg shared quiet, joy-filled moments throughout the day as they explored the grounds together, taking stunning newlywed portraits both outside and along the estate’s iconic arched staircases. Every detail of their day reflected sophistication, making their elopement feel both luxurious and deeply personal.
The Proposal
Greg proposed to Erica on a Wednesday evening after work, a few days before Christmas. Erica was not expecting it at all despite how strange Greg was acting that day. He asked her to come home fast but to drive safe. That was odd. Greg had cooked a beautiful dinner, and he ate it in such a hurry. Erica asked him twice if he was alright. He said “yes, I’m just really excited that this prime rib turned out so great!” Then Greg stood up from the table and said “I have to go to the store!” And he ran out the door…. Erica called her mom and told her how weird Greg was acting, but Erica still didn’t catch on. Greg returned home and asked Erica if she wanted to go look at Christmas lights on the beach. (There were no Christmas lights on the beach because a hurricane had caused horrible damage to the houses on the beach, but alright, I guess we can check it out). They brought their dog “Daisy” for the car ride and headed to the beach. Greg noticed it was high tide and said “oh no…..” Erica still thought nothing of it. They parked the car and began their walk to the sand, but when they arrived at the concrete beach approach ramp, there was no sand. It was all ocean. The tide had risen so high, they couldn’t get onto the beach. “Well, guess we aren’t walking on the beach, ready to go?” Erica asked. Greg said “nope!” And they awkwardly stood there. Greg walked away as if he was looking for a way onto the beach, or maybe over the rocks they were standing next to. Just then, a big wave splashed Greg. They both laughed, and then one splashed Erica. It was cold, their clothes were soaked, and Erica was laughing so hard she could barely stand. Erica stood up from laughing so hard, and saw Greg down on one knee, clothes soaking wet, holding a ring pop. Erica listened as he spoke her full name and said very sweet things to her. He asked her to marry her and she yelled “YES!!!” Greg had always teased her that he would one day propose with a ring pop, and he kept his word. They got back to the car sandy, damp and cold, when Greg asked her to hand him a napkin from his glove box. Erica opened the glove box and staring at her in an opened little box was a ring. Greg placed it on Erica’s finger and he told her “this wasn’t at all the plan I had thought out in my head. I came down to the beach and wrote will you marry me in the sand, but the tide washed it away.” Erica told him that this was perfect.
