Lisa and Jay’s wedding at the historic Sydonie Mansion in Mount Dora, Florida was a dreamy blend of elegance, charm, and heartfelt moments. They shared a sweet first look in the garden, framed by ivy-covered walls and timeless architecture—setting the tone for a day full of beauty and love. Their adorable pup made a few guest appearances during portraits, adding a personal and playful touch to their gallery. From exploring the mansion’s lush grounds to capturing romantic moments indoors, every corner served as the perfect backdrop. With an outdoor ceremony and a reception under the open sky, the day ended in golden light as the sun dipped below the horizon—leaving them with sunset portraits just as stunning as the celebration itself.
The Proposal
I surprised Lisa by ‘popping the question’ on Big Talbot State Park’s “boneyard” beach near Fernandina Beach, FL on Aug. 15, 2020. While we certainly discussed our future at length prior, she was anticipating becoming officially engaged at a much later date and with a different ring. I deviated and completely surprised her. I recruited friends of ours to support the event and capture pics and video after weeks of planning and researching locales which was hard because of the covid pandemic issues. These friends are now the Maitron of Honor and a Groomsman. Even the original ‘spot’ was changed at the last minute bc the beach was so perfect and spontaneity kicked in. The original spot was at a public fountain. Dressing up for dinner ensured she’d look her best so as to not raise suspicion. Everything went extremely well and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Wedding Day Vision
Our day will be an elegant celebration. Upscale but not uptight. Our colors are emerald, black, silver and white.
