The Proposal
Dalton and I got engaged on March 17th, 2021. The reason this date will forever be ingrained in my brain (aside from the fact that a proposal is a life altering moment) is because I had just recently injured my MCL and was in a metal knee brace for the proposal! Going back a little, Dalton and I were visiting friends in Colorado for one of their birthdays. We planned to hang out with them and take a trip to Breckenridge to ski for a couple of days. Little did I know, Dalton was planning on proposing on the second day of skiing. Of course, I had different plans. While skiing with our friends, early in the morning of the first day, I went down one of the mountains and heard a POP! The ski patrol were called and I was taken down to the ski resort’s on site emergency room. Due to COVID regulations, Dalton wasn’t’ allowed to see the doctor with me, so I went alone. Meanwhile, Dalton is outside frantically trying to come up with a new plan for his proposal, while also dealing with my parents and the insurance company. After being seen by the doctor, I left the emergency room with a metal knee brace because I had ripped a part of my MCL, and would need 2 months of physical therapy. Luckily our friends banded together and helped Dalton with a new plan to propose at our AriBnb mountain lodge. Dalton kept me occupied, while the group set up flowers and candles outside on the deck. I thought I was going out for a group picture, but instead he dropped to one knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” After what felt like a full year (or so I have been told by Dalton), I said “YES!”
Wedding Day Vision
Color theme: Dusty sage, agave, champagne, rose petal, and men in grays.
Our vision for our photos is to be very natural. Neither of us are super formal people. We both enjoy nature so having some shots outside would be great!
