Banyan Estate Wedding
Nicole and Charles tied the knot during their First United Methodist Church wedding ceremony and partied the night away with friends and family during their Banyan Estate wedding reception. A mix of traditional and contemporary, their split vision came together to create the perfect balance for a memorable day!
Friends at first, Nicole and Charles met through their church at the time, Trinity United Methodist Church. From first sight as Nicole walked into the room for an adult bible study group, Charles was completely smitten by her. After being friends for a bit and finding out Nicole would be staying local for another year until heading out of state for graduate school, Charles took a chance and asked her out on a date. Obliging to the offer, Nicole was also smitten with Charles and the two hit it off on a romance level.
Proposing to Nicole on March 4th after a lovely dinner together, he brought her to Dorothy B. Oven Park where he popped the question at sunset. A complete surprise, Nicole was over the moon and of course said, “yes!”
Fast forward to November, the two shared their special day with family and friends. Starting out at their reception venue, we arrived a bit early to capture Nicole and her girls getting ready upstairs in the gorgeous room that the venue typically uses for ceremonies. Light flooded in so beautifully through the gorgeous wall length windows that we couldn’t help, but take advantage of showcasing Nicole’s beautiful details against them.
With our groom arriving not long after we did, we headed down to greet Charles and his gang while Nicole and her girls changed into their dresses. Excited for their first look, you could feel the sense of emotion and excitement in Charles as we captured his getting ready. Back upstairs Nicole was also feeling the emotion of the day, and I must say the tears she shared during her father daughter first look and first look with Charles were absolutely beautiful.
Speaking of our couple’s first look, of course I had to take advantage of the open space and beauty of the upstairs room. Formal portraits took place in the same room as well, and also bringing our bridal party downstairs to use the backdrop of the banyan trees that the property is so well known for.
A bit ahead of schedule, we all headed over to the church to prepare for our couple’s ceremony. It was perfect timing too, as guests were also ahead of schedule and began seating not long after our arrival.
Nicole and Charles’ formal ceremony was centered around their faith and the importance of it within their lives. The traditional aspects of communion and vows shared with Jesus were incorporated into their ceremony as well. After “I do’s” were shared and a first kiss to seal the deal, the two were officially Mr. and Mrs.!
After guests funneled out to head to the Banyan Estate, family stayed behind for their formal portraits with the couple. A key shot requested by Nicole’s mom included the newlyweds together and separate on the alter, a family tradition of a portrait each bride has.
Back at the Banyan Estate, guests were enjoying cocktail hour as we all arrived. After a few shots in their gorgeous reception room, Nicole and Charles were hidden away to prepare for their reception entrance. Announced in by Vince with Roeshink Entertainment, the two started the party off right with a first dance. Dining soon ensued, followed by more formal dances, guest dancing, and a sparkler send off as the two headed off into the night.
Wishing Nicole and Charles a beautiful life together!
