The Proposal
Cody, Jordyn, and her parents were on a family vacation to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. It was the day they were supposed to go to Grand Teton, but unfortunately the roads were closed due to snow in Yellowstone (where they were staying). Cody and Jordyn’s mom, Kristal, were very persistent in the fact that they needed to wait for the road to open so they could go over to Grand Teton. Jordyn didn’t think much of it as they waited at Old Faithful for the snow to melt. A few hours later they were on their way through Grand Teton. The one hike Jordyn really wanted to do was Jenny Lake. In order to do this hike, you have to boat across the lake (which this time of year is normally frozen, but it was very warm). They made it across the lake and to the trailhead where they started hiking. The first stop was a waterfall and even though it was beautiful, Inspiration Point where you can see Grand Teton was the goal. Jordyn’s dad, Patrick, ended up staying back because the trail was very steep for almost a mile. By the time Jordyn, Cody, and her mom made it to the top they were exhausted. Cody and Jordyn sat at the point looking over Jenny Lake and the rest of Grand Teton… Cody asked Jordyn if she liked the view from here, and she quickly responded “Yes, I love that we are in the middle of the mountains and in nature, not just on the outside observing.” Cody finishes his snack, and her mom takes a few pictures. Cody walks a little further up the trail where he could really see Grand Teton and tells Jordyn to join him. She is hesitant because it was not an easy climb. She eventually made it and Cody told her to look behind her at a chipmunk (an inside joke because one climbed up her in Rocky Mountain National Park the year prior and terrified her LOL) as she was looking for the chipmunk (that wasn’t there) she turned back around to laugh at Cody for tricking her when he was down on one knee. Shocked and in disbelief, Jordyn can’t remember a word Cody said, but she gladly said “YES!”
