Capen House Wedding
Shelby and Richard tied the knot during their Capen House wedding in Winter Park, Florida. Envisioning a day of elegance and a more casual affair filled with mingling, the two celebrated with their closest friends and family as they officially became Mr. and Mrs.!
High school sweethearts, the two found their special someone early on in life and have not only grown individually, but together as a couple over the passing years. Proposing to Shelby at Honeymoon Island on February 5th, a special day for when they first began dating back in 2007, Shelby could not have been more ecstatic to marry her soulmate. A day spent reminiscing on their relationship together throughout the years, enjoying time at the beach, an incredible dinner, and of course a magical proposal made for a beautiful start to their forever.
Wedding Day at the Capen House
February 5th being a special day, was also the day that they tied the knot. With their wedding taking place at the Capen House, located at the Albin Polasek Museum and a favorite personal venue of mine, I was so excited to see my sweethearts again for their special day.
Arriving a bit early, Shelby soon greeted us with her bride’s party. While the girls settled in, we captured our bride’s details along with her beautiful Lazaro dress. With our bride’s party already dressed upon arrival, we dove into Shelby putting on her dress with mom, while Richard and his guys were headed over to the venue. I just love this special moment of a mother helping her daughter into her wedding dress – the emotion is just so beautiful to capture. With our bride’s getting ready complete and our groom arriving for his getting ready as well, we headed over to the museum side of the estate to capture Richard and his guys putting on their suit jackets.
Capen House Wedding Ceremony
A beautiful sunny day welcomed guests as they arrived for the ceremony by variety of trees that graced the waterline overlooking the lake. Settling into their seats, our procession began with classical music played by Sweet Harps by Verlon. Seeing Shelby for the first time, Richard was clearly taken with her, along with their guests as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father.
After vows were shared and a first kiss sealed the deal, guests released butterflies into the air as our couple walked down the aisle hand in hand as Mr. and Mrs. A family formal portrait against the back of the Albin Polasek Museum, followed by bridal portraits, and a variety of spots for newlywed portraits filled our formal portrait hour before our reception entrance began inside the Capen House.
Capen House Wedding Reception
Choreographed dances were a sweet surprise for guests, and let me just say that Richard nailed the dip every time! Mingling filled the day into the night before our couple waived goodbye to their guests as they left by boat for their send off. Wishing Shelby and Richard a beautiful life together!
