Jennifer and David’s wedding at the Davis Islands Garden Club in Tampa, Florida, was a celebration of love, family, and elegance. The Proposal
He proposed to me this past August on a family vacation with my kids to Destin FL for the week. One night on the vacation we were going to this cute little area in Destin where there are restaurants and shops and fireworks in the evening. He told my boys beforehand he was going to propose. He was going to hand his phone to my oldest to video it. Well, when we got there the area was more run -down than he remembered, there were no seats avail for dinner for over an hour, it was hot, humid, and I had two Hangry kids! Needless to say, not the evening he was picturing. After I accidentally derailed finding a good spot for the fireworks to stop in for ice cream (which my boys jumped at, what proposal?!?), we ended up with an obstructed view of the fireworks near a smelly dumpster! Needless to say, the night ended after that, and we drove home. Once we got back to the house, I got the kids to bed, I came downstairs, and David and I sat on the couch. I said to him “Babe, you must really love me to put up with Hangry melting down kids for the last 2 hours, I’m Sorry!” His response was, well yes, I do…… and then he pulled the ring box out of his pocket. So, we had a perfect sweet moment on the couch just the two of us. He then filled me in on his previous plan. And realized once we got home that he told the boys and the chances of them keeping a secret the next morning would be slim! So, it was go time!
The irony is the next morning the boys were up for an hour and said NOTHING! I even looked like Vana White waving my ring in front of them making breakfast! After I asked them about their big secret, they were like OH YEAH. They were super excited!
