Chelsea and Steve met me out for an early morning engagement at the lovely Disney Boardwalk. Lovers of Disney and the 50s, the two dressed in their formal best for an adorable session.
The two first crossed paths through a mutual friend while on vacation. They connected on Facebook, but anything more than a few likes a week was out of the norm until one night they happen to start chatting on Facebook Messenger. From their love of Disney to interests in life, the two realized they had far more in common than expected. After chatting for a few months, the two decided that they would meet up in person when Chelsea went to work at Disney during her college program. At the time Steve was going to school in Nebraska, which makes their meet up even more special since he flew to Florida to see her. As Chelsea describes their first time hanging out in person and spending time at the happiest place in the world, “we had the best time together dressing up like characters from the movie Up The Movie for Halloween and staying up all night watching our favorite Disney movies.”
It was clear as day something special was forming between the two. Steve “made it official” when Chelsea went back home to Louisiana and they decided to make their long distance relationship work. Moving back home for a few job prospects, Chelsea’s luck didn’t pan out, but her future looked up as she made the leap to move to Nebraska with Steve. Safe to say Chelsea’s leap (or flight) of faith was the perfect turning point for the beginning of a beautiful relationship!
Chelsea and Steve have truly fallen in love with how they can enjoy the same things together, from watching Disney movies to listening to Frank Sinatra. Steve’s patience and kindness has a calming affect on Chelsea as she describes it, which makes her feel like she is “home.” Steve has fallen in love with how empathetic and compassionate Chelsea is towards others in truly wanting the people around her to feel loved and welcomed. As Steve describes his love for Chelsea, “I can’t think of someone that I’d rather want to spend a lifetime with.”
In true Disney fashion, the two shared their first handful of dates exploring the park as the magic of love brought them together. About a year into their relationship when sharing the words, “I love you” for the first time, they discussed the moment they both knew. Chelsea recalled that it was lying in the hammocks at Disney’s Polynesian Resort while the fireworks at nearby Disney’s Magic Kingdom lit up the sky. She felt at home in Steve’s arms and knew he was something special. Two years ago when on a trip to Mexico, Steve woke Chelsea for an early morning sunrise on the beach. On their way wandering to the ocean, they stumbled upon a set of hammocks. Laying together as they watched the sunrise, Steve got down on one knee and asked for Chelsea’s hand in marriage. While Steve says the hammocks were a total coincidence, Chelsea still thinks it might have been planned. Of course, she said “yes!”
Looking forward to capturing these two tie the knot at The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne in May!
