Engagement at Leu Gardens
Renee and Jake met me out at beautiful Leu Gardens in Orlando, Florida while visiting from up north to plan out the details of their destination wedding. Tying the knot beachside in New Smyrna Beach, they are looking forward to escaping the cold and celebrating with their friends and families!
How They Met
Online dating is definitely the wave of the ‘present’ as it has been an amazing route for so many of my couples to find their forever. For Renee and Jake, the two met online through Tinder and after a while of chatting online decided to take it offline. A silly and fun date, it consisted primarily of Renee teaching Jake how to cook. Bonding over similar interests, and loving how much one another made each other laugh, the two knew they had chemistry.
Laughter is the Key to Love
Falling in love with Renee’s goofy side, sincerity, and ability to care abundantly, Jake knew he had found the one. As Jake explains, “Renee always finds a way to make me laugh.” For Renee, she also loves how much Jake can make her laugh, along with how he loves her unconditionally. As Renee explains, “Jake is uniquely himself and I’ve never met anyone like him.”
New Glarus Brewery Proposal
Planning out his proposal to Renee, Jake wanted to ensure that it was fully a surprise and told her that they were going to Monroe, WI with another couple to eat out and grab a few drinks. However, at the last minute (hint, hint!) Jake changed plans and brought Renee to New Glarus Brewery in New Glarus, WI. Grabbing a beer, the two decided to admire the views outside by taking a little walk. Asking for Renee to take a picture with him, she was completely in shock when he got down on one knee and proposed. Through the crying, laughing, and abundance of joy, Renee of course said “yes!” A special proposal also came with a special ring, which was designed by Renee and incorporated one of her grandmother’s gemstones and diamonds.
Destination wedding planning can be difficult, however Renee and Jake have a bit of advice for other couples doing the same; “find somewhere where you re getting married that is knowledgeable and experienced and ask them for advice.” While wedding planning can be stressful in itself, let alone from half way across the country, it can also be easy when enlisting help in those you trust.
Looking forward to capturing my sweethearts tie the knot this coming February!
