Florida Family Photographer
My absolute favorite Maine photographer Jessica Gould, owner and photographer of Jessica Gould Photography, came to Florida to vacation with her family. Having met one another last year in Maine, we had an instant connection and just adore one another’s work. When I head her family was coming to visit the parks, I just knew we would have to do a family session in the sunshine state.
While Maine might be my family’s favorite state to vacation in, Florida is the Gould family’s favorite spot – they come for the sun, and we go for the cold. Granted, they weren’t quite expecting the cooler 50 degree weather we had in recent days, but we all made the best of chilly weather by thinking of warm vibes, oh and of course a lot of “say Minnie” and “say Mickey,” which will inadvertently always get a smile for the camera. Vacationing in Florida is a nice way for the Gould family to take a break from the chilly Maine winter, explained Jessica; “every time we come, we get to experience something new and exciting.”
Many of those experiences come from one very magical place, Disney! Aria and Mason love going to Disney world with their parents, and of course mom and dad love it too. Jessica explained that “we all LOVE Disney, and we are all Disney kids at heart. Going to Disney World is definitely our favorite thing to do as a family when we are here!”
So of course I had to ask one big question while my sweet family was in town, why was it so important to have a family session? Of course as photographers, we have a little more emotion in this response, and I completed agree with Jessica’s, “of course as a photographer, I have a million photos of the kids, and tons of photos of Adam and the kids as well, so it’s so important for me to make sure that once in a while I take the opportunity to get in the picture!” Further explaining that as photographers it is easy to document your life around you, but sometimes you aren’t actually depicted in it since you are the one taking the photo. Out of all the reasoning though, my favorite and what I feel is the most important reason was what Jessica mentioned about her parents, “I also don’t have a lot of photos with and my parents, and it’s definitely something I want my children to have as they get older.” This really rings true to my family as well and it is such an a beautiful point made.
Looking forward to seeing the Gould family again, maybe back in Maine next time!
