Emily and Gehrig tied the knot during their gorgeous Grand Bohemian Celebration wedding elopement in Celebration, Florida. The sun radiated with warmth upon their love during their gorgeous ceremony and intimate reception that followed.
How They Met
Emily and I went to the same high school in Illinois (Saint Charles East High School) but were different years and did not know each other through school. We had the same summer job during late high school and early college, working as swim instructors and swim coaches at the Saint Charles Park District. We became friends through this, but eventually went our separate ways to finish college. During the last year of college, we reconnected via social media. I ended up moving back to Illinois after college, and we began dating in 2016. In 2019 we became engaged.
The Proposal
In May of 2019, Emily and I were living in Chicago, Illinois. We had a trip planned that month to attend a graduation in Florida and planned to go to Walt Disney World the first day of the trip. When we woke up the morning we left Chicago, I told Emily we were getting our pictures taken that morning for a Disney portrait session, and that was going to be her medical school graduation gift (her graduation was later that month). We flew into Orlando, drove to the Grand Floridian, and had our portrait session. During the session, the photographer took us to a spot where the castle and lake were in the background and I proposed. After the portrait session we went to two of the parks.
