I am so lucky to have such an incredibly beautiful family inside and out. My cousin-in-law Jen Gabel Isham reached out to me to capture her maternity session for baby number three and I couldn’t have been more over the moon to do so. Jen envisioned a laid back, Florida style maternity session with a dash of John Deere.
When explaining her ideas to me, I knew that I had the perfect Florida orange grove spot, but what about the John Deere part? Well I was up for the challenge!
Early Saturday morning came and we were very fortunate to be able to grab many beautiful shots while avoiding the small, pockets of rain showers that came and went. Our first stop was quite damp and rainy at the time so we began driving around until we hit gold – an actual John Deere tractor! Jen is as go with the flow as I am and I just love how we were able to incorporate our rather large “prop” into the shoot. The photos truly symbolize a balance between the heavy industrial equipment with the sweet innocence of a baby to be.
After capturing a few shots with the tractor, we headed back over to the grove hoping that the rain subsided. Situated among the trees, Jen posed while the wind hugged around her. I really need to start grabbing more “behind the scenes” shots so that you can see how a simplistic place that might be overlooked could truly be so beautiful with the right eye being able to see the potential. With grove pictures locked down and another rain shower about to pour down, we headed over to a grassy field for some very adorable shots of Jen relaxing while holding her baby to be.
Looking forward to capturing my very first hospital session when little baby Isles arrives this May!
