Katie and Wesley had their wedding ceremony and reception at The Highland Manor in Apopka, Florida. The ceremony took place outside on a beautiful day in front of a massive ancient oak tree. The special occasion was celebrated over two days, with formal portraits at Orlando Florida Temple taking place the following day.
The Proposal
The couple got engaged on Christmas of 2019. Katie knew that Wesley was going to propose, but it was just a matter of where and when. On a trip home for Christmas, everyone came over to Katie’s grandma’s for Christmas dinner. Knowing how much this season meant to both of them, Wesley pulled the ring out of the nativity scene under the tree and asked Katie to marry him.
Throughout most of the week beforehand, Wesley faked Katie out a couple of times with shoe tying and making his sisters play along. The proposal was a special moment that ended up being worth the wait.
Wedding Day Vision
Katie and Wesley envisioned their wedding to focus a lot on the family and the eternal bond they share. The colors were navy blue with gold and silver, but soft greenery and white flowers. They like very natural environments with memories they can look back on. The sealing was the most important moment for them. They wanted to be able to have their families there to feel the spirit of the grounds. The couple wanted the experience to have a friendly, social and warm atmosphere.
