We love venturing out of town with our couples for engagement sessions and Lake Louisa State Park did not disappoint! Dawn and Jesse’s engagement session was the perfect mix of woodsy and the great outdoors.
How They Met
Jesse and I met through a mutual friend. My next door neighbor was Jesse’s co-worker. He had been trying to introduce us for quite a while. We both were in relationships that were not working well and he felt we would be a good match. After multiple failed attempts to meet, we finally met for drinks at the Daiquiri Deck on Siesta Key in July of 2016. After talking for hours and walking around Siesta Key, we realized our friend was right. We bonded over our love for country music and dogs! We have been inseparable ever since.
How They Fell In Love
Dawn: I love how Jesse and I just click. It just feels right and is like nothing I have ever felt before. We are constantly making each other laugh. I love his passion for everything. He is a very hard worker and dedicated to whatever he sets his mind to. He always knows how to make me smile after a rough day!
Jesse: Her smile is mesmerizing, I fell in love with it instantly. She puts her whole heart into whatever she is doing and doesn’t hold anything back. She knows just how to pick me up whenever I am down. It may sound cliche, but I feel like it was love at first sight.
Their Proposal
Dawn’s favorite time of year is Christmas and loves collecting personalized ornaments. It is a tradition that Dawn’s parents come over every year for Christmas Eve dinner and always exchange one present so I thought this was the perfect time to ask her to marry me. After dinner, I decided it was time for me to give Dawn her gift to open. My heart was beating faster than ever before! She started opening the box and inside was a personalized ornament that read “Will You Marry Me?” I had placed it upside down on purpose so that when she turned the ornament around and read it, I would already be down on one knee with the ring in my hand. I asked her to marry me and she said, “Yes!”
