Gigi and Jaime met our photographer Dawn at at beautiful Bok Tower Garden for their outdoor engagement. Located near Lakeland, Bok Tower is absolutely one of our favorite places to visit!
How They Met
Our mothers actually worked together for a while before Jaime and I met. We didn’t meet until around May 2018, right when I returned home from NYU for the summer. Our families were going to the same church and so one Sunday I tagged along with my family and noticed someone cute holding the door open for everyone—it was Jaime. We shook hands and introduced ourselves and I just had this feeling in my heart that he was something special. Since then, we quickly became friends and would hang out a few times a week; sometimes our families would go out to eat together or my brother and I would spend time with Jaime and his sisters or just the two of us would go out for an ice cream run at night and just talk and listen to music. It just felt like I had known him my whole life (which is such a cheesy cliche, but true), and I just felt so comfortable around him. Eventually, our feelings for each other grew past friendship and we started dating two months later.
What They Love Most
Gigi about Jaime: I love how compassionate and patient Jaime is. He’s the world’s biggest goofball but is also the best person to go to when you’re going through a rough patch and need more serious advice or just someone to hold. With him, I feel like I can do anything I dream of doing—he often believes in me more than I believe in myself. He makes me feel effortlessly beautiful and more than worthy, and he’s just the man I’ve prayed for my whole entire life. I also love how we can just talk about anything and run with it for a while, and how we’re always finding ways to make each other laugh. When I look at him, he’s just pure love, pure peace, and pure happiness.
Jaime about Gigi: From the moment that I met Gigi, I always knew there was something special about her. Aside from her obvious beauty, she has a soul that’s one in a million. She’s generous, caring, funny, intelligent, empathetic, and amazing in a way that I’ve never seen before. She makes me laugh more than anyone ever has, and I love hearing her laugh more than anything in the world. The way that she loves and has always loved me is something that wakes me up with a smile on my face, and I go to bed every night with the same smile. She’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a partner. She completes me.
