Immersed in the serene beauty of the botanical garden, Dorian and Mike’s engagement session was a picturesque journey of love and connection. Their choice of casual yet classy attire echoed the effortless elegance of their bond. As we eagerly anticipate their upcoming wedding barn celebration, we’re thrilled to continue documenting their love story, capturing every moment of their journey together.
How They Met
We meet at work. He was the projector manager for the company and was working on a renovation at the Hotel. Everyone wanted to match us together. After everyone inviting him to have lunch with us all the time, we noticed there was an attraction there. He came to my office one day and wanted to place a bet on a college football game, Notre Dame vs. FSU. The bet was, which ever team lost that person had to take the other out to lunch. He lost so he had to take me out to lunch. He actually ended up taking me out to dinner. We had a great time that night and we have been together ever since. It’s been 8 years.
What they Love About Each Other
I love how safe he makes me feel, never felt so secure and safe with anyone till I met Michael. Love the way he always makes me laugh and encourages me to do better, how he loves me just the way I am.
The Proposal
We got engaged on Cocoa Beach, FL on October 7, 2022.
We always do date nights on Friday nights and sometimes on those nights we drive out to Nolan’s Pub in Cocoa Beach, have dinner and then walk on the beach. Well, on that day we decided to go there for date night. So we headed there a bit earlier that usual and sat on the beach before dinner. We noticed that it was going to be a full moon, so we knew we had to come back after dinner and take a stroll on the beach. Off to dinner we went and as always, we have a great time having drinks, good food and great music. During dinner I don’t know what came over me and I said…”babe you know you should always carry a ring in your pocket because you never know when the right moment will be”…LOL. Sure enough what I didn’t know was that he actually did have a ring in his pocket.
As we began to walk down to the beach and we noticed how beautiful the beach looked with the moon light shinning down I just had to take photos. Michael told me that while I was being distracted taking photos he took the ring out the box and placed on his finger. I continued to take photos and he said “babe come sit with me” (we were sitting on the ramp of the life guard stand). We sat there and hugged and kissed and enjoyed the beautiful evening. Once again I don’t know what came over me and I said “babe it’s a beautiful night for you to get on your knee and propose” and he said “Okay, I will” and he got on one knee and said “will you marry me”. I quickly said “wait are you for real, are you kidding, wait are you for real, yes I will, are you kidding”. I just could not believe it. He said did you say yes and I said yes I did…LOL. We hugged and laughed so much. I hugged him again and looked a my hand and looked at the ring and it hit me…this is for real, I then began to cry. We then started to go on our walk and he twirled me around and said you are now my fiancé and I said yes I am.
Back story. When I met Michael he was a widower with two children that he was raising on his own. We took a very long time to get where we are right now, but it was worth the wait because I could not be happier to be with anyone but him. We are so blessed to have each other and I am looking forward to making more memories with him and spending the rest of our lives together. 🙂
