Jordyn and Josiah’s Mead Botanical Garden engagement was vibrant and beautiful, just like their love for one another. My sweethearts actually met back in 2014 during their freshman year at UCF. Upon moving into her dorm, she was introduced to Josiah through way of her roommate Emilee. Friends since high school, Josiah would come over periodically to hang out and lend a helping hand when the girls needed help. Over time
Jordyn became friends with Josiah as well and during their time together hanging out at the apartment, they began to realize how much they had in common from being in the same degree program to even taking the same classes during the same semester. Little did Jordyn know that from the moment Josiah laid eyes on her during their first introduction in her apartment, that he wanted to date her and finally on January 26th he asked her out on an official first date. Their first date when from dinner at Cheddar’s to dessert at Sweets by Holly. Dessert continued on though after Josiah found out that the two both love key lime pie and picked up ingredients to make a pie along with a movie, which led to another movie, and another movie, as the two had just too much fun spending time with one another. From a first date to first anniversary, it was clear as day that they were meant for one another. Jordyn fell in love with Josiah’s patience. No matter the situation whether it may be her getting distracted or being forgetful, he is always patient with her. Most importantly he is the one by her side, holding her tight, when she just needs someone to be there for her, patiently helping her process her emotions. As Jordyn explains Josiah’s love for her, “he is such a great person to go to, to get advice, which is one of the main reasons we became so close in the beginning.”
Ironically enough what Josiah loves most about Jordyn, are the areas in which he is the weakest. As Josiah explains it, Jordyn “gets so excited by all the little things in life and I know hat before I met her life was much more boring. She’s ironically very good at finding things, because I am also very good at loosing them.” Of course he also fell in love with how humble and giving Jordyn is through her selflessness to those around her.
Josiah knew that Jordyn was the one for him. The two complimented one another so well and continued to grow together as the years went on. Planning out a rather ambitious trip to Fort Mountain Georgia, the two headed out in search for a little cold weather during their winter break. They decided to try out an 8 mile hike to enjoy the snowflakes falling around them. Well about one mile in Jordyn admittedly became a little tired and was ready to take a break, however Josiah filled with energy and excitement of what he only knew was to come pushed her on as the two continued their hike. Finally the 8 mile marker came into sight and the view was completely worth it. Gorgeous mountains and a picturesque sky filled with tiny snowflakes falling was breathtakingly beautiful – totally worth pushing on! Josiah set up his phone to take a “timed photo,” but really set it up to video record. Standing with Jordyn, overlooking the beauty of the world around them, he kneeled down on one knee and asked for her handing marriage. Of course Jordyn said, “yes” and tears of joy streamed down her face. It was the most beautiful moment they had shared together and the start of their journey as Mr. and Mrs.
