Samantha and Jacob met me out in the heart of the downtown St. Pete area at North Straub Park for their adorable engagement. Driving in from Land O’Lakes where they go to school and live, the two will soon be tying the knot in Tampa at the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church and celebrating the night away at the Floridian Palace Hotel.
My sweethearts met back in high school when they were both in marching band together. Jacob’s sense of humor and cheesy jokes totally won Samantha over and it wasn’t long into her senior year before she finally agreed to a date. From high school sweethearts to long time love, they realized their connection would be lasting.
Laughter became one of their favorite things about each other. They truly have fun together no matter what the situation may be, and take life day by day. They find both love how each other can find the positive, happy, and silly side of life to uplift one another.
Jacob planned out his proposal during a weekend getaway with their friends from Texas while visiting Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Hailey, Samantha’s best friend, who was visiting kept insisting that they get back to the room to make up Samantha like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, along with doing a mini-photoshoot around the park before dinner. Playing along, Samantha had a blast spending time with her bestie becoming a princess. Leaving the room, Samantha was completely in shock to find Jacob dressed in a blue shirt, just like the Beast! Walking around Magic Kingdom with their friends, the two took photos around the Be Our Guest restaurant before dinner. Samantha noticed that Jacob was more on the quieter side, but didn’t think anything else of it. Right before entering the restaurant, they had one last stop for photos in front of the beautiful stain glass piece from the movie Beauty and the Beast. Turning to Jacob, Samantha realized he was down on one knee before looking around in absolute surprise to also find the room had been cleared by the waiters so that the two could have a special moment alone. As Samantha remembers that fairytale moment, “it was such a magical experience that I have always dreamed of!”
