Plant Museum Engagement
Shelby and Sam met us out in Tampa, Florida for their gorgeous Plant Museum engagement session. The historic building in the heart of downtown, was the perfect location!
How They Met
From Shelby, “Sam and I met when we were freshmen in high school, so 2009! We became home room buddies, locker buddies, friends, best friends…and then high school sweethearts. And now we are getting married 10 years later!”
What They Love Most
Shelby about Sam: “What I love the most about Sam is his sweet heart. He cares very much about his “people” and it shows when he looks, talks pretty thinks about you. He is beyond sweet and allows me to do what I want without any boundaries, and supports me through every thing I choose to do. I mean he even moved cities for me, knowing we were eventually going to move back to where we first met! He is the ying to my yang”
Sam about Shelby: “What I love most about Shelby is she supports me in everything I do. She’s smart and beautiful and makes my world a better place. I moved cities to be with her because I know we would ultimately be back together in Tampa. I love that she’s passionate about what she does, who she loves, and how she adores her family, our dog and me.”
The Proposal
From Shelby, “Sam was going to propose on our 9 year anniversary, but true Sam fashion did not have the ring on time! But there was a sweet reason why! He had chosen to have the ring engraved, but on the day of our anniversary, it wasn’t ready.
So the next weekend, November 1, 2019 we were in Jacksonville for our friends wedding. He had planned to take Shelby to dinner for making up for a “low-key” prior anniversary weekend. Well Shelby messed up the dinner plans, sent her steak back and got another glass of wine, instead of go to the rooftop bar with Sam, where he had chosen to propose. He had a cake, photographer and champagne waiting, too! So instead, we went to another random rooftop bar where a group of frat guys were taking shots at the bar… Sam was so nervous and ready to ask the big question. So Sam saw fireworks off in the distance, and figured it was the time.
He got down on one knee, and Shelby blacked out. She remembers saying “no” repeatedly out of shock, and eventually realized what she was saying. She of course said “yes!”
