Natasha & Warren’s Selby Gardens Wedding

Selby Gardens Wedding

Natasha and Warren tied the knot in Sarasota during their Selby Gardens wedding.  From the beautiful downtown water view for their American ceremony to the intimacy of their indoor Indian wedding, every moment was beautifully and thoughtfully designed to create their wedding day vision.

A Law School Love

Gator nation, where it all began!  While both attending the University of Florida’s law school, Natasha first caught Warren’s eye when the happened to be in line together grabbing a cup of coffee during finals.  Parting ways that night, fate ensured they would see one another again in the coffee line.  Small talk continued night after night, and soon Warren asked Natasha out on a date, which began their relationship.

A Noteworthy Proposal

After graduation, establishing a home together, and careers, the time was right for Warren to propose.  Sharing little love notes often while drinking coffee in the morning together, Warren wanted to incorporate their little ritual into his proposal as it was both sentimental and filled with love.  Taking turns one night reading notes together in their home, Warren had one last note for Natasha, which was his proposal and promise of forever together.  Of course, Natasha said, “yes!”

Wedding Day at Selby Gardens

Sarasota is not only their home, but also the city they picked to tie the knot in.  Selby Botanical Gardens, a stunning 15 acre property set on the downtown Sarasota Bay, boasts beautiful views and stunning foliage.  It was the perfect spot for my couple’s big day!

Arriving a bit early, Warren soon arrived with his groomsmen to the Selby House for getting ready.  Putting on their jackets and of course taking a good luck drink was all part of the necessary shots haha.  Not long after wrapping up with the guys, Natasha and her girls arrived a the Selby House as well.  Across the hall, we headed over to the bridal suite to capture Natasha putting on her dress, bridal portraits, and of course a few fun shots with her girls.  With our getting ready time wrapped up, it was time for a first look.

Selby Gardens Wedding First Look

With so many options to pick from as far as a backdrop, I fell in love with the tropical vibe of the foliage on the main lawn.  Nervous and excited to finally see Natasha, Warren could not wait much longer to be able to turn around to see her for the first time.  Embracing one another, it was clear as day how much they love one another and were so excited for their wedding to finally have arrived!

Formal portraits with their family and bridal party followed afterwards underneath a towering oak, along with a few more newlywed portraits by the bamboo garden before we parted ways with our couple to prepare for their first ceremony.

Selby Gardens Wedding Ceremony

Taking place on the bay across from Siesta Key, Natasha and Warren tied the knot (for the first time!) with their friends and family.  Exchanging rings, sharing “I do’s,” and sealing their forever with a kiss, the two were officially Mr. and Mrs.  The second ceremony, and Indian ceremony, took place inside their reception ballroom among friends and family as well.  Before their Indian ceremony, we captured our couple among the beautiful trees in their first outfit before changing into their second.

Some of my favorite moments included the Jai Mala where Warren and Natasha exchanged floral garlands, which expresses the desire of the couple to marry each other.  Another favorite, and very silly moment, came from guests sprinkling flowers on the couple as a sign of love, happiness, and good fortune to them.  Following Natasha and Warren’s Indian ceremony, we headed outside for a few sunset portraits in their attire, before they changed back to their first outfit.

Selby Gardens Wedding Reception

A first dance opened the night, along with a beautiful toast from the couple thanking their guests for sharing in their special day.  Dancing, cake cutting, and some silly shots at the photo booth made for a beautiful night before saying goodbye.

Wishing Natasha and Warren a beautiful life together!
