The Proposal
It started with a surprise Christmas trip to Orlando to celebrate with our families after we had to move away for Leighton’s Air Force career. I thought maybe that was going to be the weekend he proposed, but Christmas day came, the day we were headed home, and nothing. Until we went to my parent’s house for Christmas morning. Leighton said that there was one more present and he sent me on a scavenger hunt on the east side of Orlando – giving me clues as I went. When I solved the puzzle, I was to come back to my parent’s, where my mom had started playing the West Wing theme song (my favorite show) and told me to go inside. When I walked in, he was standing there in his Dress Blues, got down on one knee and gave a beautiful speech about our 6 years together.
Wedding Day Vision
My vision for our wedding day is more fancy dinner party than anything else. This is a small wedding, with only 35 people max, and the focus is more on being together and celebrating.
Our colors are navy, sage, and charcoal and our decor will be more greenery than flowers.
