Treasury on the Plaza St Augustine Wedding
Heather and Zack tied the knot during their St Augustine wedding at the Treasury on the Plaza. A vision of bold pops of color, a delicious cookie bar, and tons of dancing with their friends and family, the night was truly spectacular!
My couple’s story first began back in Ohio where they lived at the time. Both 17 at the time, Heather was helping out at her mom’s salon, when her friend’s son walked in – who I bet you guessed right, was Zack! They would see one another periodically and soon a relationship ensued.
Growing together from children to adulthood, it has been an incredible journey along the way. As Heather explains, “we can read each other’s mind and say things at the same time,” along with always laughing together all the time. Zack proposed to heather in Michigan while on a motorcycle trip with the friends.
Flash forward to wedding day, we were so excited to see Heather and Zack again after first meeting them at their engagement session. Treasury on the Plaza is such a beautiful historic and very iconic building to the St. Augustine area. Transported through time when entering the building, it originally opened as the areas central bank in 1927.
Arriving a bit early, we were greeted by Katy and her team from Coastal Coordinating. Already ahead of schedule, the floral, decor, and other details were set up and ready to go. It always such a pleasure working with the Costal Coordinating girls!
Heather walked in not long after our arrival and we headed to the bridal suite with her. Grabbing shots of her details, getting in her dress, and afterwards some gorgeous photos in the upstairs balcony, was such a perfect start to the day. Wrapping up with our bride, our groom Zack was ready for us to come up and capture his getting ready as well. After putting on their suits, we also brought our groom’s party up to the balcony as well for some very handsome group portraits.
As guests began to arrive, we headed back downstairs to stow away our groom’s party and capture their ceremony space. Not long after, the bridal party began to line up for the procession so the ceremony could begin. One of my favorite moments of the day was capturing Zack’s smile as he saw Heather walking down the aisle. A beautiful ceremony was led by Zack’s older brother, who reflected on our sweethearts relationship and how much a perfect fit they are together. After a first kiss was shared and “I do’s” were said, Heather and Zack were officially Mr. and Mrs.!
While guests headed to cocktail hour, we held back family and our bridal party for group portraits in the lobby area while their ceremony space was flipped for reception time. Being July, it was a little hot, however my group were troopers heading outside for additional bridal party and newlywed portraits. We really lucked out with a quieter afternoon, and had the park all to ourselves for sometime. Having a moment alone after you have officially tied the knot is so incredibly special – that realization of “we did this” and “oh my gosh were married” is definitely beautiful to capture on camera.
Back inside, we grabbed a few more newlywed portraits as Zack and Heather practiced their spin for their first dance, before being tucked away in the vault for the reception entrance. After the bridal party came through the entry door to the venue, Heather and Zack surprised their guests by coming out of the vault. Formal dances were followed by toasts and tons of dancing through the night. Wishing our sweethearts an amazing life together!
