Shivana and Shaun met me out a very special place, the Stubborn Mule, in Downtown Orlando near Lake Eola. The local restaurant is not only where they shared their first date, but also where they fell in love and Shaun proposed. It was so special to be a part of capturing their engagement in a place that started it all!
Having met online on a dating app, my sweethearts chatted for a bit before meeting up for drinks. The two decided on the Stubborn Mule in Downtown Orlando. From what they both expected to be a quick meet up at the bar, their date soon turned into hours of conversation as they realized what an incredible connection that had.
That first date led to many more, and Shivana soon fell in love with Shaun’s “sense of adventure.” Always up to try new things and expand his horizons, Shivana loves Shaun’s outlook on life. Shaun fell in love with how Shivana “brings out the best” in him from their adventures through life to the quiet moments together.
The connection Shivana and Shaun had was like no other. Their relationship flourished every day and the two contribute it to the love they invest in it on a continuous basis. Shaun knew that when he was ready to propose, he would need the help of Shivana’s sister so that Shivana would not suspect what was to come! “Conspiring,” as Shivana puts it, her sister and Shaun created a plan to surprise Shivana during her and Shaun’s one year anniversary. Shaun made reservations for the two to have dinner that night, at you guessed it – the Stubborn Mule! – where Shiana’s sister arranged for both of their families to be. Arriving at the restaurant, Shivana was in complete shock and pure joy to see their families waiting for them, which was when Shaun popped the question and asked for her hand in marriage. Of course Shivana said, “yes” and the two celebrated the beautiful moment over dinner with their families!
I love asking my couples for their best piece of advice that they would give or have received. Shivana and Shaun really touched my soul by their recommendation, which is to “remember that all that matters in the end is that you get to spend the rest of your lives with each other – everything else will work itself out!” I truly believe in this principal and that keeping love at the core of your planning is what matters most!
