Sunset Grill at Little Harbor Wedding

Elizabeth and Derek tied the knot during their Sunset Grill at Little Harbor wedding in Ruskin, Florida. A beautiful beach wedding, our photographer Lori captured the essence of our fun and playful couple!

How They Met

From Elizabeth, “We met on Halloween at our friend Kat’s house who was so excited to introduce us!”

What They Love Most

From Elizabeth, “I feel that we can be completely open with each other about everything and never feel judged. We are best friends and love hanging out together and have similar interests in music, movies, outdoor activities, etc.”

The Proposal

From Elizabeth, “December 2018 we drove up to New Jersey to visit my family. We did the touristy thing in New York where Derek wanted to propose at the Rockefeller center. Luckily, he realized it was super packed there and knows me well enough to realize that I would not like such a public display in such a congested area. Another day we went to a hockey game to see my favorite team, the New Jersey devils, where Derek wanted to try to propose again. Unfortunately, the devils were playing horribly and the mood was not right (I was very angry lol). He continued to carry the ring around in his coat pocket as we visited family members throughout the week. Finally, our last day there, I took him to Point Pleasant Beach to get an authentic New Jersey pork roll egg and cheese on an everything bagel. We then walked on the deserted boardwalk in 20 degree weather to my favorite spot at the end where a bench has engraved on it “come, sit, stay awhile”. We hung out there for as long as we could tolerate the cold and I said let’s head back to the car. Derek said “well this is as good of a place as any” and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said “yes!” right away and he asked “…..are you sure?” I laughed and said “yes!” He then asked “did you want to take a moment to think about it?” I laughed more and pulled him to stand up and we were engaged!”
