Tampa Garden Club Wedding
Christine and Dennis tied the knot during their Tampa Garden Club wedding in Tampa, Florida. Envisioning a day filled with laughter, cats, and a ton of their friends and family, the two truly had their wish come to fruition.
My sweethearts first met back in January of 2009 during their college years while attending a mutual friend’s party. Hitting it off instantly, they realized that they were both from the same hometown. Clearly fate saw a match, but it wasn’t quite their time until running into each other a few years later three weekends in a row. Destined to be together, they took a chance on love and have been together ever since!
I must say that I was incredibly excited to be able to see Christine and Dennis again. From their adorable engagement session at a historic home to their wedding at the iconic Tampa Garden Club, I knew it would be an amazing night!
Arriving a bit early to Christine’s hotel where she and her girls were getting ready, we started off with capturing details (which she provided so many adorable pieces to choose from!) and of course getting in her dress. In between these two events, my most favorite moment came during popping confetti poppers. You just never know if they are going to work as well as you expect, and in our case they were perfectly timed and perfectly adorable!
Once dressed and ready to head out, we also headed out to capture Dennis getting ready. Between custom cufflinks for each groomsmen to funny socks, Christine and Dennis made sure every detail was thoughtfully selected. A little partial to Dennis cufflinks that were pictures of their kittens, that personal touch just felt like a beautiful sentiment to wear on their wedding day.
Venturing around the property of the Tampa Garden Club, we brought Dennis over to a gorgeous gazebo just on the backside of the property at a bordering park. The lighting truly could not have been better and the moment any sillier. A mask reveal for their first look included two kitten aspects with the first being Dennis wearing a Grumpy Cat mask and the second being Christine surprising him with a cat mask over her face when he took his off. Of course instant laughter ensued, which opened their day together on such a lighthearted note.
Formal portraits with our couple’s bridal party took place afterwards between the entrance to the venue. Towering oak trees made for a well placed tree canopy and gorgeous light shining through. As guests began to arrive, we knew it was time to hide away our couple and their bridal party before the procession was to begin.
Taking place in the garden, Christine and Dennis vows and first kiss were shared under a vintage chandelier brought down all the way from Chicago. A gift from Dennis’ aunt, it graced the top of the arch. Formal portraits with family took place after the ceremony, along with cocktail hour.
Back inside for the reception, Christine and Dennis incorporated their kittens again through holding signs of their faces as they entered the room. Guests immediately began applauding for our couple, and of course their kittens, before the two shared a first dance.
Toasts, more formal dances, dining, and TONS of dancing filled the night before a sparkler send off goodbye sent our sweethearts on their way. Wishing Christine and Dennis a beautiful life together filled with as much laughter and silliness that they shared on their special day!
