Turkey Lake Park Engagement
Recent transplants to Florida, Taryn and Chris envisioned a woodsy engagement that reminded them of their hiking trips back home in New York. With the two living in the MetroWest area, I knew that Turkey Lake Park would be the perfect spot for their vision.
Their story began back in East Fishkill, New York while both working for IBM in 2011. For both Taryn and Chris, it was their first job out of school. Taking part at a new hire happy hour, the two finished dinner early and were asked by the group to head out to grab seats for the next event of the night at the local movie theater. ‘Saving seats’ for what felt like forever, the two realized rather quickly as the movie began that their colleagues had just set them up on what would be the most important date of their lives.
From their unforeseen movie date to many more actual dates, the two moved from a work relationship to a romantic one. It was clear as day to both Taryn and Chris, along with all of their friends and family, how perfect they were for one another.
With the same goals and vision for their future, Taryn and Chris realized that they were ready to tie the knot and wanted to announce it to their families together. Starting with Taryn’s parents, they told her mom and dad while on a visit back to the Northeast. Keeping is a surprise secret for three months, the two shared their big news with Chris’s parents while at a family dinner. With both sets of parents now in the loop, Chris “put a ring on it!” There wasn’t a dry eye at the table from tears of joy and the family celebrated with a bottle of wine provided by the restaurant as a toast to such a monumental occasion.
My laid back couple definitely had the right idea in mind to not feel stressed on their wedding day. Their advice for other ‘soon to be’s’ is to pick a venue close by home so you don’t have to worry about being late or forgetting everything. As Taryn puts it, “keep it simple.”
Looking forward to our team capturing their big day at the beautiful MetroWest Golf Club this October!
