Wedding at The White Room - Corner House Photography

Lana and Hunter had a beautiful wedding at The White Room in St. Augustine, Florida. These two tied the knot outdoors during a lovely day and then celebrated with their family and friends. We wish nothing but love and happiness to our couple!

The Proposal

Hunter proposed on Friday, August 20th, 2021. It was a normal Friday except we had dinner reservations at Ray’s on the River. I assumed he was treating me to a nice dinner since we had a semi-stressful week with condo renovations and we made the decision to cancel our Tybee Island trip for Labor Day weekend. I was pretty bummed we had to cancel but it was responsible thing to do. Ray’s on the River is a super cool local white table cloth restaurant. It also happens to be the place where his parents had their wedding reception. It was perfect. After dinner, he ordered me a glass of bubbly and himself a bourbon. We decided to escape the bustling restaurant and enjoy the summer evening outside along the river. There is a walking path and benches spaciously placed along the river. We sat and chatted and let the stress of the week melt away. I was staring off at the river when Hunter said he had a question for me. As I turned to look and respond, I saw he was holding an engagement ring. I was so happy, surprised and excited. I was bursting with emotion. Obviously, the answer was YES! Here we are today.

In later conversations, I learned that center stone of my ring was once in his mother’s engagement ring. It is a diamond that his paternal grandfather brought back from Africa during his time in the military. Hunter’s parents will be married for 46 years this year. Since his mother no longer wore her original engagement ring, the stone was set as my center stone. The jeweler was able to melt down the original band to use for Hunter’s ring. So essentially, we will both carry a part of this ring with us.

Again, this was Hunter’s idea. And it truly shows the kindness and thoughtfulness of his heart.
