Courtney and John’s Winter Garden engagement in the hometown where Courtney grew up was the perfect way to kick off their engagement year. Their love story begins at the most magical place on Earth, Disney, where the two met one another through work. Both at the time were working at Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel at Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland and after meeting knew that they both had a connection.
Their relationship grew from hanging out with one another at work to dates outside of the park. Courtney soon fell in love with how John makes her feel every day; from the way he looks at her to being her best friend in the entire world. John fell in love with how understanding and caring Courtney is in their relationship and to everyone around her. As John explains it, “I love that you’re always right by my side when I need you the most. You are my best friend and that feeling has never faded.” Oh and of course, he adores her gorgeous blue eyes.
As their relationship grew, John knew that Courtney was the one. He had found his best friend and the woman he wanted to marry and be with for the rest of his life. Planning out their engagement, John wanted to make it special and enlisted the help of Courtney’s best friend. On a day off together, Courtney’s bestie invited her to go get their nails done while John hung out at the house with Courtney’s dad and brother. When Courtney returned back to the house, John told her that they were going somewhere special. Traveling an hour and a half away, John surprise Courtney and their group by taking them to the beautiful Bok Tower Garden.
As they walked around, enjoying the setting sun and scenery, John pulled Courtney aside under a 50-year-old oak tree that had stood the test of time and asked for her hand in marriage. Courtney was in complete shock and could not even speak, only able to shake her head yes. As tears of joy welled up in their eyes the two shared a kiss and sweet hug. It was the perfect moment, all of which caught on camera by Courtney’s best friend to be able to cherish for years to come. As Courtney reminisces, “it was a day I will never forget.”
I love asking my soon to best about the best piece of advice they have either received or would give to others planning their wedding. Courtney and John instinctively said, “the best piece of advice we have gotten so far is to just try to relax and simply enjoy these next few months while they last because they will never happen again.” Focusing on the meaning of your wedding, which is marrying the love of your life, is what matters most and the little details will all fall into place.
