Meg & Chris’ Downtown Winter Park Engagement – Captured by Samantha

Winter Park Downtown Engagement

Downtown Winter Park engagements off of Park Ave are always a blast to capture, especially when you have such a cool couple!  Meg and Chris met me out near Casa Feliz, where after we ventured along the sidewalk into the heart of the downtown area.  Taking pictures and stopping in a local shop for a quick outfit change, we had a blast exploring together and capturing some pretty adorable pictures.

Meg and Chris’ story began online – a first for me couple wise, they met on Reddit!  Posting a little personal ad, Meg received a TON of responses, but none were quite like Chris’ response.  Both taking the time to introduce himself and ask if she wanted to meet up for drinks, Meg decided to take Chris up on his offer.  Their first date took place at The Cloak & Blaster, a suggestion by Chris after finding out how much Meg loved comic book collecting.  Showing up in a Godzilla t-shirt, Meg was immediately impressed by Chris.  The two realized how much they had in common during that night, including their love of bad movies.  It was clear as day that their online connection was so much more!

How They Met

Falling in love with her vivacious personality, it wasn’t until their first date though that Chris realized what he loved most about Meg – her eyes and smile!  With their first date being in a darker pub at night, their second date shaped out to be a realization for some of the many traits Chris loves most about Meg.  For Meg, it is the way that Chris can always make her laugh, even on a bad day, or calm her down when stressed out.  As Meg explains, “Chris makes me a better person, and without him I’m not sure I would be the woman I am today.”

What They Love Most

Both having started new jobs, and a few months in, Chris invited Meg for a little weekend getaway to Savannah.  Somewhat expecting he may have a proposal in mind, Meg was still completely surprised when it happened.  Having picked out rings roughly six months prior – they finally came in after being designed around stones that belong to Meg’s Nana and mom.

The Proposal

Despite the forecast for rain on their second day of vacation, bright sunny skies were upon them as they headed out for some hiking at Skidaway Island State Park.  During the entire hike, the two didn’t pass by a single hiker – it felt as though the park belonged to them.  As they hiked along, the winding trail came to a beautiful spot where the trees opened to the Savannah River.  Stunned by the view, Meg grabbed her phone to take a quick picture.  As she turned back to Chris, she found him down on one knee, ring in hand, and he said to her, “well baby, will you marry me?” to which Meg said, “yes!”  Celebrating that night with a delicious seafood dinner along the water in downtown Savannah, the two realized they were about to start their journey through life together!

Looking forward to our team capturing Meg and Chris’ big day this coming March at the stunning Harry P. Leu Gardens in Winter Park, Florida!
