Clearwater Yacht Starship Wedding
Nina and Evan tied the knot during their Yacht Starship wedding in Clearwater, Florida. Envisioning a “big party” where guests are having the time of their life in celebrating our sweethearts, along with a tropical destination vibe by pick of their yacht venue, the two truly had a spectacular wedding!
How They Met
Evan and I met in July of 2015. His cousin Nick and him were going out on the Sandbar for the day (the sandbar is basically a shallow part of one of our lakes that is just a big party on the weekends, gotta love small towns) and I was going with my friend Brittany. Brittany and Nick were an “item” at the time but I had known Nick since we were little because we went to school together and he was a grade above me. Anyways, we were all meeting up at Evan and Nick’s family lake property that we called the Burlingame Lake Property. This is where Evan and I first met. We went on the sandbar and had a great day. After that day we spent on the lake I knew he was the one I was going to marry. (He may not have known but I sure did.) This spot is also where we had our first kiss.
What They Love Most
Nina about Evan: What I love most about Evan is his work ethic, the way he can be my calm when I am anxious, his love for his family and animals and his REAL laugh. Like when something makes him close his eyes and hold his stomach, that laugh.
Evan about Nina: For Evan, “What I love most about Nina is her thoughtfulness, her caring nature and how she always supports me, no matter what.”
The Proposal
In 2017, Evan and I moved into his grandparent’s old farm house that was across the street from the Burlingame Lake Property. We would occasionally walk our German Shepherd pup to the lake in the evenings. On June 28, 2018 we went on this same walk back to the lake and as I was distracted by baby squirrels, he pulled the ring out from a hiding spot and got down on one knee. Little did I know, he had went to the property before he came home that day to hide the ring. Good thing a little creature didn’t steal it!
Wedding Day Vision
We envision our wedding day to be just a big party. Not meaning everyone is drunk off their butts, but just everyone having a great time, celebrating our love story. Neither Evan and I are one to love the spotlight but so we chose to have a smaller ceremony/reception at a tropical destination. We are getting married on a boat which is very fitting considering that was the first thing we did together and all summer when we first started dating. We have a really close group of friends that are coming down to help up celebrate along with our great families. Every detail of the wedding has been thoroughly thought out.. I’m an event planner in our small town.. and even though Evan thinks it’s “my day” I still have included special moments for him.
