Lisa and Sam met me out at the beautiful botanical Mead Gardens in Winter Park for their outdoorsy engagement. The two love nature and being outside, so when Lisa had seen prior sessions at Mead, immediately knew it was the spot for them!
It is incredible to think of the power the universe holds for your future and how the idea of being “meant to be” truly cannot be an understatement. While Lisa and Sam had thought that their story began in 2012 on Facebook by having mutual friends, they later realized that they had actually met in person back in 2009 in Atlanta. After all of those years, Lisa and Sam had found one another again and this time didn’t have plans to let time go by without one another.
Sam fell in love with how Lisa is always able to just “be herself” even from the moment they met. That comfort of feeling confident in who she is, has always made Sam feel more comfortable about being himself around her as well. As Sam explains their relationship, “Lisa won’t just be my wife, she’ll always be my best friend.”
For Lisa, Sam’s sense of humor in the way he can always make her laugh through even the tough times has brought them closer and one of her favorite characteristics of her fiancé. As Lisa explains she will always have Sam to “lighten the mood.”
Fast forward three years from when they reconnected, Sam planned for a special dinner on Memorial Day weekend with his parents and Lisa in Atlanta. Little did Lisa know, another surprise was taking place right beneath her nose and she didn’t even realize it! Sam’s parents had brought his grandmother’s engagement ring for him to propose to Lisa with. Sentimental and beautiful, Sam knew it was the perfect ring to pop the question with. That evening back at their home while sitting outside on their back deck watching the sunset by candlelight, Sam got down on one knee and asked for Lisa’s hand in marriage. The intimate moment for just the two of them was perfect, and Lisa fell head over heels for both Sam (of course!) and the beauty of his grandmother’s ring.
While still in the planning stages of their wedding, Lisa and Sam both recommend following your instinct. As Lisa explains, “planning should be fun, easygoing and not stressful.”
Looking forward to our team capture these two tying the knot this October!
