Katie Dickinson and Rodney Kuncho met me out in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, Florida at the Bridge of Lions for their engagement session. Their session was a beautiful mix of casual and dressy as we went on an adventure around the town.
Katie and Rodney actually met on Match.com. The two lucked out being paired up with one another and after chatting for a bit hit it off. Their friends and family always tease them that they will be the next models for a Match.com commercial since they are truly the perfect example.
Rodney fell in love with how caring Katie is, along with being beautiful inside and out. As he describes it, Katie is an “all around good person.” For Katie, she fell in love with how thoughtful and kind hearted Rodney is. It was clear to see how much one another cared for each other from Rodney checking in with Katie to make sure she had what she needed and bringing along her bag, to Katie making sure Rodney was enjoying their time together taking engagement photos.
Knowing that Katie was the girl for him, Rodney planned a surprise getaway with a proposal for Katie. Bringing her to The Omni at Amelia Island Plantation on an impromptu getaway, Katie walked into a room filled with wine and gifts. Each gift opened brought her closer and closer to a glass ornament. Finally picking up the ornament, Katie opened it to find an engagement ring with Rodney asking right after. Of course Katie said “yes” and of course it was her favorite gift!
I love asking my couples about the best piece of wedding advice they have received along with one piece of advice they would give to others about their wedding planning journey. Attending wedding expos has been the best piece of advice Katie and Rodney received so far, as they are just a blast to attend and you can knock out booking multiple vendors at once. As far as offering advice to other couples they both agreed that you should, “talk with each other about what is important to each person so its special for both of you in your own way.”
