Alysha and Seth met me out at the beautiful Rollins College campus for their engagement session this past week. The Spanish charm to the buildings, natural foliage, and mature oak trees lining every walkway was the perfect backdrop pose my sweethearts against. Alysha and Seth did a little ride through on their bikes about a week prior to our session to check out the suggested spot and absolutely fell in love.
Alysha and Seth have an interesting story that began in high school. While the two crossed paths many times in the hallways as they headed to class, they never made had that ‘moment’ where their path came together – that was until Summer. Alysha at the time was a Sophomore and Seth was a Senior. Seth was excited to be wrapping up his final year and venturing off to college. Spending time with family and friends before entering the next chapter in his life, his path finally crossed with Alysha when they met at his neighbor’s house. Alysha reminisces that they “instantly connected.” It is ncredible to think how many times they must have noticed one another in high school, but it wasn’t until by chance they both happened to be spending time with their friends on the same day, in the same spot, to finally get to truly meet one another!
Ten years later, the two are absolutely inseparable! Both feel that they are one another’s support system, soul mate, and best friend. Seth can always make Alysha laugh at absolutely anything – even silly little things like spinning her for a photo! They have ‘grown up’ with one another with their love developing from high school sweethearts to a beautiful deep romance.
When asking about their proposal, Alysha joked that is was “definitely long overdue!” Seth knew that Alysha was ready for the next chapter in her life, but didn’t want to rush things until they were both ready. During their ten year anniversary they ventured to Bonita Springs, a tradition they do every July, where Seth had a little twist to their tradition in mind. After settling into their hotel, they decided to go out for a quick bite to eat and a stroll around the hotel grounds of their favorite Hyatt hotel. The super casual, laid back stroll was perfect to keep Alysha from being in the ‘know.’
Walking down the boat dock, Alysha noticed an array of beautifully lit candles. Before she even had a chance to ask what they were for and why they were there, Seth dropped to one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. She was taken by complete surprise and in absolute joy said, “yes!”
