Nicole and Andy met me out with my team for a beautiful and fun training session / styled shoot at the quaint Wooton Park near the Tavares Pavilion in Tavares, Florida. My second shooter Lyssa H. and videographer Samantha S. tagged along, while we training on finding the perfect light or as some call it ‘chasing light,’ our style, and new ideas we all had in mind. Nicole and Andy were as over the moon as I was when they agreed to model for us. It was the perfect pick, as they are quickly coming up on their one year anniversary!
You may remember Nicole and Andy from when they were first featured on the blog for their steamy engagement at Cypress Grove Estate House and their stunning garden atrium inspired wedding at Park Plaza Gardens in Winter Park. The two have kept in touch and I must admit I totally stalk Nicole’s Instagram feed to see new picture of their pups Molly and Moose – seriously the cutest puppies ever!
The two actually met back in Fort Lauderdale while in PA school when they first locked eyes. Only a few weeks into the first semester, Andy asked Nicole out on a date, which led to many more dates, a budding romance, and a beautiful proposal a year later. Now that they have tied the knot and started their lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Campos, I just had to know how life has been since their wedding. When discussing their favorite part about marriage, Andy loves “having someone you love to grow old with knowing on person better than you know anyone else,” and Nicole couldn’t agree more!
Over the past year, the two have felt that marriage has brought them even closer together in so many aspects of their lives from their friendship to the way they communicate and compromise. I just adore this quote from Nicole, “every time we grow, we grow together.” It is an incredible feeling to experience beautiful moments with the one you love.
I love advice from my couples who have had a year to reflect on their marriage when it comes to what they would tell future “to be’s.” Cliché, but honest, Nicole and Andy both agreed to never go to bed angry. Nicole had me laughing, because while Andy taught her this early on into their relationship, it would drive her crazy because she wanted to be angry – even if it was just for a little bit. However, carrying around anger doesn’t solve your problems and “waking up every day with a clean slate and a smile on your face” is totally worth letting go of big and small things.
