Kelsey and Alex tied the knot during their beautiful wedding at Timacuan Golf Club. You may remember my sweethearts from one of their two, yes two!, engagements. The first was at Highland Manor for a rustic vibe and the second was at New Smyrna Beach where Alex proposed. However as much as I loved their engagement sessions, their wedding was the true beginning in their journey through life together.
Alex and Kelsey actually met back in Tallahassee while Kelsey was attending school. They fell head over heels for one another and just over a year after Alex proposed to his darling at Kelsey’s parent’s beach condo in New Smyrna. Alex had found the woman of his dreams who dedicated her heart and soul to everything she did from her career, to her family, and to their relationship. Kelsey of course said yes as she knew that there was no other man in the world that could motivate her to be a better person like Alex could and who could always bring a smile to her face with his silly sense of humor.
The two envisioned a day filled with celebration, which meant tons of dancing, partying, and nonstop laughing! Their colors of navy and pewter radiated through the venue from the napkins to table numbers. Our day started off with arriving early to capture our lovely bride getting ready with her girls. Her maid of honor and her sister Samantha helped her with jewelry, while mom buttoned her up in her gown. Kelsey’s dress was just simply stunning and looked like it was right out of a fairytale. We bounced back and forth between capturing details of Kelsey getting ready with her girls, while Alex was getting ready with his guys. One of my favorite moments of the day prior to the ceremony had to be their two flower girls, Emma and Kinzey, surprising Alex with a gift from Kelsey. The special and private note that went along with the gift brought Alex to tears.
Their ceremony took place out on the veranda underneath a beautiful white trellis arch decorated with flowers and ribbon. Vows consisted of a little heartwarming laughter and tears of joy. The two shared their love for one another, history together, and future that they can’t wait to be a part of as they take the step into life as Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins. You could sense the overwhelming warmth among Kelsey and Alex’s friends and family who were so happy to witness such a beautiful moment in their lives. One of my favorite shots in addition to the first kiss during their ceremony was the excitement in Kelsey and Alex’s smile as they lifted their arms celebrating being introduced for the first time. The joy is overwhelming in the image and makes me smile every time I look at it.
After their ceremony we grabbed a quick room shot and headed back outside, but this time to the golf course and oak trees for family and wedding party photos. Newlywed portraits were a blast as we explored the golf course to grab shots on the rolling green hills and landscape shots of the wonderful Timacuan bridges in the background.
While roaming around, it was incredible to think that just the prior day a hurricane flooded in. Kelsey and Alex officially coined their hashtag as #HurricaneJenkins2016 because of it. I always tell my brides that I truly believe rain on your wedding day is an omen for a good marriage. It washes away the old, brings the new, and showers down with love, but a hurricane? I fully expect these two to have a VERY long lasting, beautiful love that could never be broken!
DJ Vince Roeshink with Roeshink Entertainment played new age and some of the best oldies that had every guest on their feet dancing the entire night. The reception was such a blast to be a part of and I have to admit that both Kelsey and Alex’s chair shots were one in a million and a little comical. You can see the excitement and fear of being lifted up into the air, haha! Another fun moment was the “Let Love Glow” dance where every guest grabbed a glow stick and bopped with the beat. The little ones had me laughing as they decorated their wardrobe with tons of glow necklaces and bracelets. A heart shaped sparker sendoff closed the night as the two came running out hand in hand. Wishing these two an absolutely beautiful fairytale that is just as beautiful as their love for one another!
