Leu Gardens Engagement
Tatiana and Thomas met me out at beautiful Leu Gardens for their Orlando engagement session. While the two have begun looking into the planning aspects of their wedding day, they first wanted to take a step back and just enjoy a moment of being fiancés for a little while!
How They Met
During their junior year of college, while Tatiana was attending the University of Central Florida in Orlando and Thomas was attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, the two met and began talking everyday. About three months into their friendship, Thomas officially asked Tatiana on their first date. January 31, 2015 will always be a special date, as it was when their love began. Inviting Tatiana to mini golf (a fav of Thomas) and eating Chipotle after (a fav of Tatiana), the two realized how much of a connection they had and became inseparable since – even though Thomas didn’t let Tatiana win at mini golf hehe!
What They Love Most
Their love has deepened through the challenges in their relationship, which they have overcome. Even during a three-year long distance gap, they continued to preserve and sustain their love, knowing that they were meant for one another and would spend the rest of their lives together.
During this time, and throughout their relationship, Thomas’ sense of humor always was a favorite attribute for Tatiana. As she explains, “he makes me laugh so much and there is never a dull moment between the two of us.” Additionally, she admires how his positivity radiates throughout his life in always being able to find a “bright side” to every situation.
For Thomas, what he 100% (or well 110%) loves about Tatiana, is how she is so giving and driven. Putting her mind to an objective, Tatiana always perseveres to accomplish her goals. Also, as Thomas explains, “she will always put others ahead of herself… on top of all of that she’s the only person who can keep up with my goofiness and dish it out just as well.”
The Proposal
Engaged just two years shy after they had their first date, Tatiana recalls the special night. While staying at her place of work, The Breakers, which was a five star luxury hotel, Tatiana headed up to their room for the night after her work day had ended. Finding Thomas already there, he surprised her down on one knee with balloons and an engagement ring. As she reminisces, Thomas “said that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and asked if I would marry him.”
Words of Wisdom
An event planner herself, Tatiana’s words of wisdom to other couples planning their big day is to “take your time!” I couldn’t agree more! Tatiana and Thomas are having a two year engagement so that they can enjoy the engagement part of being fiances, and not just the planning part. Another piece of advice from Tatiana and Thomas, which I highly agree with, “remember that it is your wedding and not someone else’s, so do what makes the two of you happy.”
