Heritage Springs Country Club Wedding
Shelby and Tyler tied the knot during their Heritage Springs Country Club wedding in Trinity, Florida, just outside of Tampa. The two envisioned a fairytale wedding filled with touches from Beauty and the Beast, like a “Be Our Guest” welcome sign, navy suits – the same navy as the Beast, a golden wedding dress, and other Disney aspects throughout their wedding theme. Of course, the two also looked forward to the sharing in such a special moment in their lives with the “pure love with our family and friends who make up our family.”
College Sweethearts
Their fairytale love story began back in 2011 at Lake Sumter Community College. The two met through attending the same campus, both on an athletic scholarship. With their paths crossing often since they were both involved in sports, they eventually became friends, which led to romance.
Falling in love with how happy Shelby makes him, Tyler knew that she was the one from the beginning. As he explains, “even if I am coming home from a long, tough day, the second I walk through the door, seeing her changes everything.” Of course he jokes, “Thor wagging his tail helps too.” Thor is their adorable little pug.
For Shelby, it is the way that Tyler can make her smile through his daily actions. From large gestures like planning a sunset beach date (even though he despises the sand), to smaller ones like bringing home cupcakes (even though his inner nutritionalist says no), or doing the dishes. These actions combined come together in showing Shelby his love each and every day.
Surprise Proposal in Washington DC
With so much love, Tyler knew a proposal was in order and while visiting Washington DC for business, he planned his proposal to Shelby after asking her to come along. After attending a Nationals Game, the two went out for a nice dinner and walked around Meridian Hill Park. As they walked by a beautiful fountain in the park, Tyler turned to Shelby and took her hand in his. He let her know that he had been “sneaking around,” but with a big smile added why… proceeding to get down on on knee, Tyler proposed to Shelby, and of course she said, “yes!” Completely unexpected, it was the perfect proposal!
Wedding Day at Heritage Springs Country Club
Their fairytale continued on their wedding day. Arriving early, we were greeted by the biggest smile from Shelby. While our bride finished up hair and makeup, we photographed her details, which included a beautiful golden jewelry box – and my fav – an etched engraved perfume bottle with Shelby’s name on it. With the guys still heading over, we made use of the extra time in captured Shelby and her girls by a little garden area just outside of their bridal suite. At first glance, Shelby and her girls must have thought I was nuts, that was until I showed them the pictures of how beautiful they looked in their adorable little spot. Good lighting, some super cute potted plants and floral, and beautiful smiles makes a picture!
Not long after capturing Shelby and her girls, Tyler and his guys arrived. We headed over to his groom’s suite to capture them suiting up and afterwards outside along the boardwalk for formal portraits of our groom’s party. I must say we probably jokingly picked on Chad, our best man, a little bit too much, but I mean the whole group was pretty silly – #WheresChad. As guests started to arrive, we headed back inside to get ready for their ceremony.
Taking place in the lobby ballroom of their venue, which totally felt like the Beauty and the Beast ballroom – the two shared their vows and sealed it with a kiss. Afterwards, we captured a large bridal party portrait and family portraits before we were off to explore the venue outside.
Heading back to our secret little area with the floral and garden pots for newlywed portraits, the sun began to set behind our couple. Strategically hitting up the boardwalk just down the from the garden area, and afterwards hopping in the golf cart for a few shots with the gazebo, we were able to visit so many beautiful spots.
I must say that Shelby and Tyler’s guests definitely cheered them in with love during their reception entrance, which led into the first dance. More dancing filled the night after dinner, before a final dance goodbye sent them off.
Wishing my sweethearts a beautiful life together, filled with the fairytale love that they have shared since the beginning!
